US-based class-action lawsuit experts ‘Hattis & Lukacs’ are inviting those who are affected by reliability issues consistent with SMR-based HDDs. This started with the problem affecting SMR-based Red series. Many NAS users with this HDD found unfixable problems with one of the two models of the WD Red series HDD. The earlier one used CMR, while the latter used SMR drives. WD did not disclose the recording method until the fallout of this problem.
The prolific leaked information hunter _rogame was able to find UL Benchmark’s 3DMark tests on the upcoming Renoir-based Ryzen 4000 series APUs. Based on the benchmarks, the upcoming APUs have strong CPU performance over its predecessor. The screenshots show the existence of three APUs- the Ryzen 7 Pro 4700G, Ryzen 5 Pro 440G and the Ryzen 3 Pro 4200G. The Renoir APUs are based on the 7nm process Zen 2 architecture manufactured by the TSMC.
Rumours, leaked slides and benchmarks show a strong presence of Matisse refresh Ryzen 3000 CPUs to stay ahead of the Intel Comet Lake-S CPUs that’s launched recently. While this is using the same Zen 2 platform, there’s apparently an XT variant which alleged has a better overclocking ability and higher base/ boost clock speed.
It is just recently we posted an update about the Matisse refresh CPUs. Earlier I mentioned two SKUs but the recent report provided better clarity. these are upcoming Ryzen 3000 series SKUs: the Ryzen 9 3900XT, Ryzen 7 3800XT and the Ryzen 5 3600XT.
AMD has three motherboard chipset nomenclature- X, B and A series. As you’d expect, the release of AMD A520 motherboards is inevitable. An industry source suggests the all-new low-budget tier chipset will be available in September. It is not surprising news, to be honest. But it looks like the A-series will be pushed harder towards low-budget gaming PCs and general/ HTPC segment.
Biostar listed all the Ryzen 4000G APUs with some information. This was on the B550GTQ motherboard’s CPU support list before it was taken down. But it showed all the upcoming Renoir-based Ryzen 4000 series Accelerated Processing Units (APU). Just very recently, another motherboard listing confirmed more information. The listing of SKUs on a motherboard support list also indicates its inevitable release, most likely on June with the B550 motherboards are listed for sale.
