AMD-Radeon RX 6700 XT Reference

AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT rumoured for March 18th availability; announcement on March 3rd

It was already expected to see the AMD Radeon RX 6700 Series launch post Chinese new year. A source confirmed AMD next-gen RDNA2 based Radeon RX 6700 XT graphics card available for purchase on March 18th. Another source reveals the card will be formally announced on March 3rd- two days from now. This will be the first GPU using the Navi 22 series core.

What’s known about the Radeon RX 6700 XT so far…

The Radeon RX 6700 XT is expected to have 40 CUs (2560 Stream processors) with 12GB GDDR6 memory on a 192-bit memory bus with TGP between 186W- 211 Watts. The Radeon RX 6700 XT is expected to retail somewhere between $479- $499. There are no performance leaks about the RX 6700 XT. So we’ll only know where this graphics card stands among Nvidia GeForce RTX 3000 series. It is only recently the RTX 3060 12GB was launched with multiple AIC partners. AMD was also supposed to have the RX 6700 graphics card. Its speculated to have half the VRAM count with lesser TGP. But we’ll just have to wait and watch when it will be out. Or if!

Note that both sources had different information about their availability. One said the Radeon RX 6700 XT will have limited availability, and one said it will have better availability. Availability is the eye of the beholder, I suppose!

The State os GeForce RTX 3080 Ti

Meanwhile with Nvidia, originally, it was speculated to see the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Ti and the RTX 3060 during the Feb launch. However, Nvidia apparently delayed the RTX 3080 Ti for unknown reasons while going ahead with the RTX 3060 launch. It is expected to see RTX 3080 Ti use 7nm TSMC produced chips.  AIDA64 even listed RTX 3070 Ti. Samsung is allegedly unable to produce as many chips for Nvidia for the RTX 3000 series. Personally, that argument doesn’t really hold water since Samsung is in the chip-making chips for many companies It can scale up pretty easily. If Nvidia is switching to Nvidia, most likely it to take advantage of its 7nm fabrication over Samsung’s 8nm.

Intel XE HPG gaming-grade discrete graphics cards are nowhere anywhere close. But there has been some information leaks about six likely models.
