AMD’s 50th year anniversary is on May 1st. It has launched its special 50th-anniversary microsite talking about its years of development for the CPU and the GPU technology. The company as formed in the year 1969 with a dozen employees. The difference between the special edition and the standard Ryzen 7 2700X is not mentioned. It should have some trinkets, commemorative engraving on the IHS or some mini coffee table book(?). All are mentioned is the inclusion of Wraith Prism CPU cooler. The pre-order pricing is listed for US$ 340.95.
According to the news report, these should be out for retail on April 30th. It’s uncertain if these special editions will be available in India- or have unrealistic price escalation.

Special Edition CPUs are not something new. Intel had the Pentium anniversary G3258 CPUs and also its x86 architecture 40th-year-anniversary edition with the Core i7-8086K which came with a signed certification from Intel ex-CEO Brian Krzanich and the ability to push up to 5.0 GHz.
