The JEDEC Solid State Technology Association which sets the DDR memory standard published a new document detailing the upcoming DDR5. The upcoming memory standard is typically used for computers varying from a low end, gaming systems all the way to servers. While the obvious benefits and improvements affect a wide range of users, this one addresses certain improvements for cloud computing and the enterprise market.

AMD bundles two EPIC Exclusive with its RX 5000 series graphics card

AMD Radeon is now bundling two free games with its RX 5000 series graphics cards: Godfall and War of Warcraft: Shadowlands. Graphics cards such as the Radeon RX 5700 and 5700 XT, RX 5600 XT and the RX 5500 XT qualify for this offer. But the RX 5500 XT gets only a copy of Godfall. Those who purchased these GPUs between July 14th to October 3rd will get a game code from your retailer.

The 'new' 12-PIN power connector for graphics cards

Nvidia RTX 3080 rumoured to use the new 12-pin connector to draw power

Nvidia is allegedly preparing to launch the RTX 30 Ampere series GPUs in August. Based on the leaks, PR interaction and also its not-so-incognito plan to discontinue four of its RTX 20 series graphics cards is a dead giveaway. ASUS has a non-reference design under its drawing board that was also leaked. Nvidia’s Founders Edition cooler for the RTX 30 series was the worst kept secret. It is said that Nvidia RTX 3080 will have a TDP higher than 300W. Hence, Nvidia will allegedly have to use the all-not-new 12pin interface for the graphics cards.

Intel Skylake-X LGA 2066 HEDT Family

Intel discontinues the Skylake-X HEDT processors

Intel circulated a formal announcement of the discontinuation Skylake-X CPUs. This family of CPUs was its 9th generation Core X Series HEDT processor lineups. These processors were made for the LGA 2066 socket motherboards. Both the Skylake-X and the Kaby Lake-X processors were made for the Intel X299 platform. The Skylake-X lineups were launched in 2018.

Nvidia makes way for RTX 30 Series ‘Ampere’, axes four Turing GPUs

Nvidia is reportedly started to discontinue its Turning graphics card to make space for the upcoming RTX 30 series which uses the ‘Ampere’ GPUs. This apparently includes the RTX 2070, RTX 2070 Super, RTX 2080 Super and the RTX 2080 Ti. Nvidia isn’t confirming it officially, but it isn’t either. It shouldn’t be surprising in any case that eventually Nvidia will have to make room for the upcoming RTX 30 series graphics cards. What matters is when as it helps to have a ballpark time frame about its release.

GoPro is testing Webcam support for Hero 8 Black action cams

Following Canon footsteps, GoPro is BETA testing Hero 8 Black to be used as a webcam. Usually, selected digital cameras can be used as one with a camera capture card, the Elgato Camlink 1080p and 4K variants being the most famous ones. The other option is to have an HDMI input based USB dongle. With direct webcam support, you don’t need to make any additional purchase. This is a much needed, much-requested feature support by many digital camera users.

As time changes, so do companies merge or split. Sennheiser Communications splits its Gaming division and forms a new brand name ‘EPOS’,  viz. owned by Demant. For now, it will manufacture and sell currently available models but under a co-brand name ‘EPOS | SENNHEISER’. Reminds you of  ‘Sony Ericsson’, doesn’t;t it?  The same applies to its enterprise solutions.
