Need suggestions for a basic pc for a friend.

    1. Purpose for Purchase
    Office work, documents, email, communications

    2. Budget and your location
Minimum possible, with VFm tag, Surat, Gujarat, India

    3. Preferred mode of purchase
    Preferable local retail purchase

    3. Complete system purchase
Yes, needs to build a complete system

    4. Time frame for purchase
    3weeks

    5. Specific Hardware requirements
If possible need to find a smallest farm factor chasis as space on table is a constraint.

Also open to all in one pc if value for money factor is not skewed..

    Thanks

Don't bother with AIO PCs. Most of the budget ones have sub par performance unfortunately and only those > 30k have decent performance.

I would suggest the foll config -

    Intel G2020 + Asus H61 mbd - 3800 + 3500
    4 GB DDR3 ram Corsair Value select - 2700
    500 GB Seagate/WD - 3500
    ASUS LED Monitor 18.5' - 5600
Cabinet + PSU (Any local brand) - 1500
    Logitech Keyboard + Mouse - 1000
    LG 24x DVD - 1000
    Win 8 64 bit - 6400

    Total cost - 29,000.

Recommended addons - Corsair 450W PSU for cleaner power and maybe better long term reliability of components. - 2300.

Counter recommendation - Go for a good quality AIO PC. 35k gets you an HP AMD dual core processor, 2GB ram, 500 GB hdd, etc but importantly comes with a 3 year on site warranty for peace of mind.

For 400w units, you can check out Coolermaster GX400 and/or Seasonic S12II 430. AFAIK, according to a writeup in toms hardware, the D3 rev of GX400 is Seventeam, whereas others are Enhance.
