Dell recently updates its S-series of monitors ranging in size from 21.5 inches to 27 inches. The panels have a few things in common, namely :
- Full HD Resolution
- Option In-Plane Switching (IPS) and VA Panel
- 60Hz Refresh Rate
- LED Backlight
- 8 Million : 1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio
Moksh Mridul: Depending on how these are priced, i can see them selling like hotcakes. My only apprehension is against having a resolution of only 1080p on the 27 inch panel, but i guess for that we have the Dell U2711 and the 2713HM.
Roshan Ashraf Shaikh: Dell didn’t reply back yet but as far as you can find out via Google, VIS stands for “Virtual Integrated System” and its related to data centre efficiency. Again, since there isn’t a reply from Dell so I have no idea how is this beneficial to standard end users.

There are certain notable features that some people would like to have:
who in their right mind puts a resolution like 1920x 1080 in a huge 27inch panel? That too on an ips panel? Has dell lost their sense of logic when it comes to making lcd panels? those korean based LG OEM panels should have better resolution for the same price as that 27 inch garbage.
also, if you look at this- like dell, many companies are responsible spreading around marketing gimmick that 2ms response time is better than 5. so by the false and moronic marketing logic these people have forced in non informed user’s head with shiny stickers, its unlikely they will buy these panels since they are labelled with 8ms response times. enthusiasts will no otherwise, but manufacturers try to market on short term. Well now that ips panel is phasing out TN panels, I bet karma is a bitch now, huh?? lets not forget these idiots have even hardwired the thought process that LED light is better than LCD, little that people know that LED is nothing more than backlit- and TN panel with LED actually produces colours that are even more inaccurate with the panel with CCFL backlit.
now what lies will dell plan to cover up their old lies? contrast ratio?
