NZXT unveils its ‘Designed by Razer’ PC Case

Razer recently announced its licensing program where it would provide its Razer designs and brand to other PC case manufacturers. NZXT is the first to do it with its H440 case.

Though in reality it looks as if this is a basically a program where they allow manufacturers to use its logo and colour scheme (given that Razer paid a lot of money for its signature ‘toxic green’ colour), the company says that this licensing program will be open to selected case manufacturers and the cases will be subjected to rigorous vetting process by Razer’s design and engineering team for approval. One couldn’t help but wonder why would companies who have designers with years of experience with designing cases would sign up with Razer, unless its for branding.

Who benefits this out of this- companies or Razer? In any case, this should appeal on a positive note to Razer fanboys, but I hope there’s a switch to turn off the green LED lights individually.

“We have some of the world’s best designers and engineers working at Razer and we fully believe in advancing the industry no matter the cost, so it makes sense for us to share this knowledge with other manufacturers in our industry,” says Min-Liang Tan, Razer co-founder, CEO and creative director. “It’s our goal to service the needs of the hundreds of millions of gamers worldwide and a custom Razer PC case has been sought after for some time. The NZXT H440 – Designed by Razer is the first success with this program and we expect there to be many more.”

The NZXT ‘Designed by Razer’ H440 case sports the signature green USB ports, green illumination, tinted window with illuminated Razer logo and interior hardware. There will also be a green glow on the underbelly of the case.

Other than the probable overkill of green stuff, this case is priced for $149.99 and should be available by June.
